Hello,

I heard a story from a friend that goes to this school, overhearing that someone sent in a reel that was someone elses to a company. They were caught and that company no longer accepts anything or anybody from that school from now on.

I wonder, should I put a watermark of some sort to my reel just in case some punk kid downloads it and sends it out as his own? Do you think it will affect the overall image and affect potential employer's decision?
Thanks

Probably wouldn't hurt. But if the punk in question can't replicate the quality of the stolen reel he's likely to get busted anyway. Make a bug slap it in the corner.

I assume it was some kind of university or film school. That student should be promptly kicked out!!!

Eh, apparently...this person is still in school. Weird

BUt have any of you done this in your reels (adding a yourname.com watermark) when you post them in your webpage? Would that lil thingy be distractiing for some people?

Considering the amount of crap that TV stations put on the screen during TV shows these days, I doubt if a little logo or initial in the lower right corner would be annoying. It might not even be noticed if you do it well (small and tasteful). I watermark all my web demos. A month ago someone stole my whole (copyrighted) website word for word. They probably would have taken the demos too if they were not watermarked.

You shouldve kicked their ass, Galt.

Its pretty scarying that Ive only thought of this now, Im gonna add them by today. (God its so cool waking up early, you got so much time to do things, WOW)
Anyways, you think its neccessary to watermark DVD reels as well? theyre rippable
thanks

I did kick their butt. They had to hire an attorney to respond to my attorney, website came down immediately and is still down.
