I understood and have used copy to file. Where we can get a jpg or png of the current viewed frame in the video preview. What does the copy to clipboard button do ? I tried it. Then i tried CTRL+V to see if i can paste the image onto the timeline. There was no reaction. Where is the clipboard. If its only virtual how many images can it store. And if its getting stored somewhere how can one get to use it ? By pasting ? By Viewing ? Viewing where ? ....I read the help files and all it says is it gets stored in the clipboard. They forgot to tell us how we could paste out of the clipboard.

The clipboard is the "Windows" clipboard. Once you press that button, you can then use Ctrl-V in a program like Photoshop and paste the image. Works great - I use it all the time :)

Yes Mark, I guessed it would be. But i tried CTRL+V within the timeline and it didnt work. If its on the OS clipboard. Then CTRL+V should paste it into the media bin or timeline etc right. But i tried pasting it to all such locations with no result. Or is it meant to only be pasted within an image edit application such as Photoshop ?

You should be able to post to the timeline with CTRL+V -- I do it all the time.

Make sure you have the correct track selected.

I think I've tried that too and had the same result - could not paste from the clipboard into the timeline. I'm guessing this is because while it is on the clipboard in this manner, it is not yet a formated file (BMP, JPG, TGA, etc), it's just data. Once you paste it into an application and "Save" it, you have to save it in a format. All files in the media bin are in some kind of format. Just a guess -

Yeah, I know. That would have been so usefull for us if it works that way. I mean we could do freeze frames etc with ease. We could cause the bleach effect etc using cc on just that one image. A whole lot easier than going into an image edit application etc. And especially when we want to do a lot of freezes for certain effects. Anyway im curious how its working out for David Jimerson ??? Any settings within the OS etc that might be preventing this ? Ive also noticed that im never able to grab an image of the entire screen (screen shot) Using print screen etc or whatever.
