copies of a clip in multiple bins, bogging down premiere?

I'm editing a surf video, and due to the enormous amount of clips that i have its important that i have copies of a lot of them in different bins, we're talking upwards of 5000 or more for this project.

Is this going to slow me down alot if i make copies to other bins, or not at all since there is really only an aiv. version of each clip on my comp anyways??

Having multiple copies in different locations in itself won't slow down Permiere, but it certainly can make for a complex file system to manage. Consider exporting a trimmed project to a new drive using the clip rename feature. This will give you a much more manageable solution.
