"cooties", "chaos" : 11 year olds?

Don't have kids. Can anybody knowledgeable here tell me when boys stop using the word 'cooties' when referring to girls, viz at age 11 would that word be out of vogue? And would an 11 year old know the word chaos and be able to pronounce it smoothly, as opposed to saying cha-os rather than chaos?

I'd suggest viewing "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"(2010). I don't know if the dialog is 'au currant' on the playgrounds of middles schools... but I think there is some of that transition period from 'ugh girls'... to 'uh girls'...

I would say yeah 6th grade around 11-12 years old is when I started thinking about girls in "that" way as opposed to them just being crappy at kickball. And I think the whole chaos thing is whether your were taught it or well read or whatever. Some kids are huge into books and I could see them knowing how to pronounce chaos.

Hell I remember taking a 5th grade spelling test which tested your level of spelling and I tested in the 2nd year of college. Sadly I went to college and my spelling prowess stayed at the 2nd year level. Maybe that's why I could only get an associate's degree. Damn it, I'm not as smart as I think!! This changes everything I ever thought I knew about myself!!
