hey Guys I wanted to ask couple of you whoever had the experience with both mixers. I would like to buy one of them. it is just cooper is little over my budged. from my experience I thought cooper was little bit more solid mixer and I like the analog signal chart. What do you think if it comes to cooper CS 104 and SD 442 ???

Hmmmm. I have no idea, but I'll be following this thread. The Cooper Sound mixers have a great reputation, from what I understand, but I know only one mixer locally, who uses one.

really not give anything more then sd , probbaly much less
i warked with cooper and found it much less then sqn gave me 10 years ago -
but it is very relible

I have several mixer friends who swear by their Cooper. Heralded specifically for their outstanding preamps and qualty features.

Some local guys did some concert recordings with a Cooper and SD a few years back and from second-hand reporting I was told the Cooper kicked serious ass but for dialog recording the difference was not nearly as apparent and probably couldn't be identified in blind testing.

More then anything, adjustment to analog meters would be a big deal for people growing up in digital age; tends to just be easier to match "this LED to that LED."

Personally, the price differnce is just too much for what I can't see as a big difference for my day to day work. YMMV

i guess they checked it on grand piano since if it was rock concert, this is secend hand garbage :-)

Actually it was an outdoor orchestral concerts. I couldn't tell you the specifics because, again, I never heard the recordings but the jury was definately unanimous.

Cheers
