Coollights LED

We're just running late. Undermanned right now so its taking longer than we expected. We have however been shipping direct from China to people that wanted the LED 600 right now as we do have quite a bit of product finished, tested and ready to go. We're just not finished with the total production of all products so we can't ship to US stock yet.

If you want one now, just send an email to info@coollights.biz stating city, country, post code, how many units and what accessories and we'll put together a quote.

We don't sell batteries, just the adaptation. V or AB type for the LED 600 and smaller camcorder battery type adapters for the LED 256 (Sony, Panasonic, Canon and JVC).

Which type of adaptation should I get? I don't have a clue. How much do batteries usually cost? You see how much easier this would be if you just sold everything. :-)

Perhaps in the future we will but there are so many restrictions on shipping for batteries and its a whole other business to get into. Maybe we'll do solar whenever we finally get into that, LOL...

Its mainly a trade-off between size, weight and price as to what you get. The smaller lighter ones will be lithium based as in the AB and V types used on Pro camcorders. We have the battery plates for those. You probably won't buy one of those just for the LED 600. Its mainly meant for those that already have and are using them on their camcorders. The price can be quite high for those pro type batteries.

The lesser expensive but larger and heavier lead acid types won't attach physically to the LED 600 like the AB or V will using our battery plate. You'll typically have the lead acids on a battery belt or in a pack on the floor. Bescor makes some good ones and many of our customers use those. They simply plug the 4 pin XLR output into our XLR input and that's all you need to do.

Great. Should be going to inspection on Monday. I'm quite proud of that design.

Starts off with this innocent looking bundle.

Be careful though, let go of it and it pops out to this:

And finally unfolds to this:

The speedring slides into the LED 600 where the barndoors would normally go. Apply the softbox to that and it stays on there with tension from metal within the frame of the softbox against the metal of the speedring. Hard to explain but its fairly intuitive once you see it. Definitely not your average softbox with rods to put in and take out. No rods at all.

I'd like to order two of the LED 600 Flood Lights in 5600K as well as two CL-255P lights.

This should be good for small location interview and small greenscreen work correct?

What kind of stands would go well with these?

Can you put me on your email list for when these come in stock? I'll send you a PM with my address.

This may or may not change based on approval from the higher ups.

Thanks

Pics should be back now.

Yes quite a few are using them for just that use.

Any baby 5/8" stand will work with the included stand adapter at the bottom of the LED 600.

Yes, no problem. We are shipping some now from stock in China to those that want them immediately and can't wait. Shipping is just a bit higher of course and takes an average of 4 days once we ship. Contact us at info@coollights.biz if interested and we'll give you a quote. Otherwise, its just waiting for the ones bound for US stock to arrive in order to have the inexpensive, within USA shipping.

Just used the LED 600's and the LED 256 on some shoots and was really happy (thanks Richard for getting the order in for my friend leaving for Kenya). The build and features are top notch and really thought out. Loved the gel kits w/CTO that you can slide into the 600's. The Bescor batteries are pretty cheap and work well, but man are they heavy! Had to get used to the barn doors and LED lighting (creates a pattern). Need to use a flag to cut light if you are worried about a light pattern from the LEDs. The softbox seems like a must have.

Will be ordering more for sure!

Good to hear things went well in Kenya and thanks for letting us know. Softboxes on the way soon if we can finally get all this stuff shipped and on the way to US stock.

Yes they will. $25 + shipping. Set of 4: 1/4 minusgreen, 1/2 minus green, full CTO and diffusion panel. All 1/16" acrylic in a nylon padded pouch. Perfect to fit right behind the barndoors.

Awsome! I was just wondering where I was going to get that. So glad your selling this stuff and it custom fits the lights.

Go the LED600 Richard. Please post news as soon as the gel kits and softbox are available. I'd just like to thank Richard publically for his committment to customer service and communication. We had a hassle with another lamp here in Australia earlier in the year that was cleared up by Richard at his own considerable cost and without any complaint at all. Really good stuff. Keep up the good work. We'll keep buying.

Cheers,
Peter

Forgot the say the light's great! Very powerful and compliments our smaller Lite Panels Micro Pro very well (which actually cost more)

Richard,

Do you give any discount on Cool Lights products to DVXuser members? I tried searching for the answer, but the search engine kept failing.
