Coollights CL-SFT1 Softbox

I'm building my first lighting kit and I'm interested in this kit. If I use one as a key and a second one as fill, what's the best way to cut the output of the second one by about 50%?

Are these good for backlights as well, or should I consider a CL-MF0150 for that? Does the CL-MF0150 fit in a softbox?

I personally think that a hard light is more effective as a rim or backlight than is a softlight. Thus the CL-MF0150 would probably be a better back light. As for two CL-SFT1 kits, you may only need two in extreme situations. You may find that one kit and a reflector is good enough for most small settings.
