Cool Robots

if they choose to sell them, looks like 15,000-40,000 each..
but I think I remember reading an article a few years ago that said Honda planned to have one of their asimos in every honda dealer...

Well its good to see our enemies before they destroy human kind.

On the other hand, that was great.

I would suppose that since humans are considered (by humans) to be the most advanced species we know of, that such engineers view replicating human-like characteristics as the ultimate challenge.

Then again, maybe they're just amusing themselves.

Of course, Disneyland has had an animated Abraham Lincoln chatting it up with tourists for many decades.

I wish I had a couple of these for my sci fi movie. except they wouldnt be dancing.
I was watching the movie and the whole time I wanted the 2 in the front to start fighting... never happened.

Not sure why humanoid robotics is seen as such an engineering imperative.

What's the point?

How else are we supposed to get Cylons?

Do you think they were doing the "human?"

Do you think they used motion capture to program the motion? They were cool, but if they would have physically interacted with each other, that would have been really cool...

I've seen cooler robots.

Dammit, I'm tryin' to post a pic of Awesomo... and I can't get anything but a freakin' link!

Hey in AI the thing that bugged the hell out of me was how they represented people to think of the robots as appliances... hell we have love affairs with our freakin' PCs as it is NOW... If you could have a stunning woman humanoid that resembled any of the most beautiful women you've ever seen I'm really sure that we wouldn't... like... uh... embrace that.

I'm still abit uncertain about robots of the future. Then again, I wouldn't mind one just to do my taxes, wash the dishes and make me some egg rolls!

I think they have those, they are called "Dishwashers" and "Computers"! well, they cant make eggrolls, but do they make cigars by machine now? maybe you could just throw a wonton wrapper and some fillings in there...
