hi guys been racking my very tiny brain trying to figure out how they did this, on the music video attached, sorry if you have to sit through the whole thing but at 4:34 the singer sitting across his beautiful lady pauses the scene gets up steps out of the picture rewinds and then steps back into the picture and continues his date, very creative but how is this done? greenscreen or something else? am kerplunked on this one and how easy would it be to do something similar

Potentially, you wouldn't even need a greenscreen. The shot is locked off so you could just make two layers of the video, split it down the middle and then pause the one visible on the right hand side. However, once he moves outside the frame (which could just be a black barrier physically there), you would need to do pull a proper key around him to do the rewind effect properly. Maybe they manually rotoscoped the whole rewinding effect? I think this is probably how they did it. If you watch his right leg closely when he rewinds at 4:40, you can see that the rotoscoping isn't perfect. Also, when he steps back into the frame, the extras on the left are moving slightly while the ones on the right are paused.

There are quite a few ways they could have done it, it's hard to tell exactly which one was used from watching.
