cool lights: bluish skin tone

So I am new to florescent lighting. I bought a cool like 655p light. And when lighting my talent i notice their skin has a bluish tint to them. Am i setting something wrong? I am using a 5600k. And i have that set in my camera as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Its best to do custom white balance with any camera. That takes care of any issues that might come up with electronic lighting. While stock settings can work for some things, auto or presets can have some issues so its best to learn to fully use the camera manual settings in all areas.

Just checked on your website Richard and the LED600's are out of stock until late August. Ouch! That bigger one you are working on won't be out before then will it?

Cheers,
Peter

We'll be able to ship the LED 600 from China to Australia before August, and fairly soon so I wouldn't worry about that. On the bigger models I'm not sure they'll be done in the August timeframe yet. We'll have to see how it goes.

hi pimp (i mean that in the nicest way)

i have two of richards 2foot 4 bank cool lights and am very happy with them. have been using them on every shoot

i like to use a sheet of lee 188 cosmetic hilight on them
it is one quarter cto with one quarter white diff
and also removes any green spike (not sure why)

Good to know Ian. You had me going with that one. Everyone else that's tried has had good luck with those Kino bulbs in our fixtures.
