Cool Edit Pro

I have a video edited in Vegas Pro 8, and have a trial version of Cool Edit and want to do some noise reduction work, but I am not able to move my audio track into the Cool Edit program. When I tried to move it, all I get is a 'squealing' type noise. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, I am not very computer savvy, but I didn't think I would be stumped by the first step. Thanks for any advice.

Got it, sort of.

Alright, I figured out that I had to put my audio into a mp3 file to move it over to Cool Edit Pro, and that worked great. BUT.... now I can't figure out how to change it back and get it back into Vegas Pro 8? Need help, please advise.

you just have to export it out of Cool Edit & import it into Sony Vegas as a new file. Basically, treat it as a new file, put it on a new layer beneath, sync audio with your existing audio & then mute the original layer ( or delete it altogether if you have too many layers.)
