Converting quicktime files to other formats

Hi,

The more clients I run into the more I realize that not everyone uses Quicktime and many of them prefer other video file formats...

There are many conversion softwares out there. I have tried a free one before and it bites. I wonder if there is one consistently reliable software (I'll pay if I have to) that would allow me to convert .mov to .avi, .wmv and flash and other popular non Mac formats.

Thanks

Flip4Mac allows you to export to WMV out of FCP.

For FLV, you can use Flash Movie Encoder or Adobe Media Encoder CS4, which by the way comes with Flash CS4, premiere pro Cs4 or After Effects CS4, not to mention the packages.

For most people, either MOV or WMV will be sufficient.

I installed flip for mac once and it screwed up my ability to watch MPEGs in QuickTime. (In all fairness that was a long time ago.)

I love, (and when I say love it's like I almost want to marry it kind of love), MPEG Streamclip. I use it to export AVIs and a few others.

It's powerful, stable and with a price tag of free 90 free, very hard to argue with.

MPEG Steamclip - http://www.squared5.com/
Perian - http://www.perian.org/ (check this one out too)

QT is free, convince them, that they should expand their video viewing capability. I also agree that Flash is a good format.
