Converting .mov to dv

I have a 6 and 1/2 hour..yes 6.5 hours of continuous footage. I captured it with adobe onlocation and I need to put it in fcp. It is a .mov file right now. How should I convert this to a dv file for fcp?

I tried mpeg streamclip but it said the clip is too long. Should I just do it in chunks? I'm hesitant to start because I know it will take a long time and I don't want to waste time converting it the wrong way. Also, I don't need the audio so how can I just convert the video?

The better question is that is it even necessary to convert to dv or should I just leave it as .mov?

I'm compressing the footage for a time-lapse video. I shot it on a dvx100B in 30p and 1/4 shutter speed. I uploaded directly to a harddrive. Will quality even been affected if I don't convert the file type?

It shouldn't be... Check the format of your video first in Quicktime. Did you even take a look at the video in FCP to see if it worked, or did it actually have difficulty with it for some reason? It shouldn't matter anyway, even if it wasn't DV, as Quicktime decoders are clearly handling it.

It does work in fcp, I just get a message saying the .mov is optimized for fcp or something like that. But it still plays.
