Converting FR2 24/96 .wav files for FCP

My Fostex FR2 field recorder creates wonderful sounding 24 bit, 96khz wav files but so far I've not been able to import them into FCP. It gives a very cryptic error message. The same file opens and plays fine in soundtrack. Go figure. Instead I have recorded the slightly less good sounding 24bit 48khz with great success. Wav files come right in.
I would love to be able to use the extra samples. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Sam

FCP supports audio sampling at 8kHz to 48kHz and 8 to 24 bits. You'll have to cut sound in another app, wich is actually good, since FCP is so lame with audio. Make sure to record a reference track in your video tape, though, since editing without any sound is a real pain...
