I did shooting today on a Panasonic HMC-AG40 (AVCHD) for a 6-7 minute video that will be put on a community instructional website. There's a production group that doing all the work for this project. I was just helping out to get some short cuts at a distant location.
Everything I shot, about 16 good/final takes less than a minute each (some 10-15 seconds), is now in FCP and it's 1280 x 720, 29.97 fps, and Apple ProRes 422. I created information cards (3 seconds each) in the edit with take numbers and descriptions of each cut for the producers of the project. So, basically I have a sequence that the producers can cut as they need. It may be that they only use a few seconds here and a few seconds there.
I just found out that they're going to be shooting and editing the project in SD. They've asked for me to convert what I have. They're not sure exactly what they need; I don't think they're familiar with FCP or AVCHD or even HD. Though they told me that they think it would be helpful if I converted what I have to 720p, 30fps, they're not sure. :embarasse
Any suggestions for what to convert my sequence to and for what tool to use? If they can't offer any exact guidelines, is there a best guess scenario?
Thanks for any help.
