Converting a clip on matte box to use rails?

Has it been done? Can it be done?

I recently snagged a matte box on ebay on the cheap, but alas, it's a clip on style. Thus, a pain in the butt for a dslr shooter with multiple lenses.

I'm thinking about trying to convert it to go onto my rail system, but I have no idea how to go about this.

Anyone got any ideas?
 
you would probably look for an angular aluminum cut a short piece to become an L-bracket. Rivet one end to the bottom of the mattebox, and make oblong holes on the other to attach via bolt n nut onto a rail block.
 
I've been working on a similar problem. It'll be another month before mine if finished.

But it'll be a "swing away", under $50.
