Converting 24p to 30p

Hi guys,

I shot some footage using the DVX100 at 24p.
I talked to my teacher however, and discovered that the projection system in class cannot read 24p...(!) So it seems like I'd have to downres it to 30p.
I know that it can be done with FCP, but since I'm not very fluent with it I can use some guidance on how to do it.

I appreciate your help,

L.

You can do this one of 2 ways.

1) Edit your 24p footage in a 23.98 timeline. When you play it out over firewire, FCP adds the pulldown on the fly to make it 29.97, which you can record to your deck.

2) Just copy and paste your 24p edit into a 29.97 timeline. FCP will add the pulldown frames. Then you can just export a quicktime movie or play it out over firewire and record it.

I am new to the digital film making please help me.I am shooting a one hour long documentary film. I want this to be telecasted on various channels including the Discovery(1920*1080 @59.94i).I may send this to festivals also. I had also planned a feature film on the same subject and therefore shot some footage on 24P. The feature film project could not took off but the documentary can be completed.
The already shot footage is on --
HDW F750 1080i/59.94
HDC F950R 1080/24p
DVCPRO HD varricam 720/24p
DVCPRO HD HDX900 720/24p
HDV HVX202 1080/25P
75 % shoot remains for an hour long documentary. In future I would like to shoot on HDX900 DVCPRO HD (principle camera) and PMW EX3 (B Camera)
1.Does 24p acceptable to the channel and broadcasters in europe and USA ?
2. What frame rate should be adopted for the remaining shoot?
3. What editing path I must follow to get the best resolution, please guide.
4. How can I convert the above footage in acceptable resolution or should I re-shoot?
Please advise
