I have a half-hour wildlife documentary that was shot on DVX and edited in FCP 7. I want to bring the whole project up to HD resolution and finish it there. That way, I can use some AfterEffects composite shots at a higher resolution, but most importantly, I'll be able to do the subtitles in HD, which is SOOOOOO much easier to read.
Even after years of shooting HD, the DVX footage still looks nice to me, but when it comes to titles, that's where the SD format really hurts, and it distracts from the imagery.
My plan is to uprez all the SD footage to HD in Compressor, and then reconnect the clips to the sequences. But I'm not sure how this will work.
Is there a way to migrate an FCP project from SD to HD?
