my wireless records mono and when i try to copy the right channel to the left channel, nothing happens. i have been exporting to audition and then importing taking untold time. any better solutions.
In CS2 you can use a "Fill Left" or "Fill Right" effect on the audio track:
The Fill Left effect duplicates the left channel information of the audio clip and places it in the right channel, discarding the original clip’s right channel information. The Fill Right effect duplicates the right channel information and places it in the left channel, discarding the existing left channel information. Apply to stereo audio clips only
I don't think you have to do it this way in CS3 though. Which version are you using?
Before your clips are edited into a sequence, select them all, and go to Clip>Audio Options>Source Channel Mappings. Highlight the option "Mono as Stereo", and hit OK. Now, all your mono audio clips will playback as fake stereo--at least the same audio will be present in both channels.
thanks for your responses guys, however, i have tried all the above. by the way i am using cs3 which has the same fill effects but nothing changes in the timeline when i try using them. and the same result with mapping options. i ll try again.
cbrougham thanks. if it hadn't been for you i wouldn't have tried again. when i went in the audio daiologue and changed the settings i got no sound. so i stopped there. but i continued this time and it appeared in the timeline. a little strange i am sure this is a bug of cs3.
Can't explain why it didn't work the first time, but glad it worked now. Also, make sure to do this as soon as you've captured/imported your clips, and before you start editing with them. I've found that if you've got even one clip in use, and you try to select all the clips in a bin and change them, you can't.
also.. when your using the "fill right/left " effects. its the opposite of what you would think. when you use the fill right .. your filling the left with whats on the right, and visa versa. basically the effects should be called "fill FROM left, and "fill FROM right" but in order to fill anything, you have to be working with a stereo track to begin with.
