Does anything think its possible to use a screen from a camera such as a mini-dv which you can buy for almost nothing (and alot of people have some that a broken or don't really work anymore) and convert/hack it to use as a monitor for DSLR? I think mainly it could be used in tight spots or if the camera is at an awkward position and you just want to double check framing or something real quick without moving the camera and trying to place it again.

Just a thought.

could it be done? yes. would it be easy, practical or cheap? no not at all. it would be far more complex then taking off the lcd and wiring it to the video out of the DSLR. most likely you would have to convert the signal from the DSLR signal to something the LCD can recognise, figure out which wires do what, figure out how much power it will need and how to power it. ALOT of time and trial would be needed to do this. you would be better off buying a purpose build monitor which with its larger size and higher resolution would yield much better results
