Conversion Lens vs Adapter

I know there's been many discussions involving topics such as this but I just want something cleared up:
I intend to shoot with the 100a and blow up to 35mm, do I HAVE to use the AG-LA7200G Conversion lens or will the LW7208 WA Adapter suffice?
any details would be greatly appreciated

I am a student working on my grad thesis and I cannot afford to shoot in 35mm.
Also, does the DVX-100A differ from the DVX-100 in that the 100A can shoot "real" anamorphic?

I only ask because a 35mm blow up is pretty expensive, at least when I've examined
the numbers. Many times it makes better sense to shoot Super16mm because the
process to 35mm is sometimes more cost effective than originating on videotape.

DVX100a has a "squeeze" mode for widescreen. DVX100 does not.
The anamorphic adapter looks soft without a lot of work and isn't right for every situation.
The wide angle converter (0.7x) is very nice. That, along with a DVX100a would be a good kit.

That definitely helps.
However, I hear that it takes a specially fitted mattebox to work with the AG-LA7200G, how is one to use filters without that mattebox?
