Convergent Design Odyssey7 and Odyssey7Q, OLED Monitor AND Recoder...HMMMMM.

I was just shared information on this new gizmo from Convergent design, the Odyssey7 and Odyssey7Q. They are OLED monitors with external recorder capabilities, up to 4K. The starting price for the base model, $1295 USD, is very inviting. However, there are some things I noted. Their recording options, "Compressed (Avid DNxHD up to 120fps), Uncompressed HD/2K RGB 444 (up to 60p), 2K/HD Raw, ARRIRAW (full 16:9 and 4:3 support), and Canon 4K RAW.", seem limited to me, especially without a Pro-Res option, What the...? I am also a little bit nervous about the "External Recorder Licensing" thingy. Not sure to make of that, except I had better bring a healthy check book. Well, let me know what you think.

Other than prores what codec options would you like to see? I would be very happy with DNxHD or Uncompressed for 2k work.

AHHH i see the issue with the licensing now. You pay over $1000 for the recorder and then you have to pay extra for each codec you want to use. For that price you could buy a quality monitor and a black magic shuttle.
