continuity question

Im setting up a sequence where my actor is running. Im filming him passing through several locations where he will be running from one end of the frame to the other. If, suppose, the first set up shows him running from left to right, should subsequent shots alternate; left/right...right/left? or should they all show him heading "left to right" until he reaches his destination?

thanks

The really picky will say he should continue from left to right. But if he is running around the block or a lake, at some point he should be running from right to left.

If he changes directions completely it will indicate to people that he's running backwards. Unless you have reason to do otherwise I suggest choosing a screen direction and sticking with it for the most part. It's not a straight rule, and it may well turn out fine going with occasion shift. Definitely don't make it a left/right pattern.

Yup, if he runs from screen left to right in one shot, he should probably continue running from screen left to right unless he's actually changing direction or you can insert an intermediate shot from a different angle, e.g. him running straight at the camera.

Thanks.

guess it cant hurt film two or three running directions for each location. I'll decide later which way to cut it
