Is it any good? Ebay Ad doesn't give detailed tech specs.
Can't afford any of the Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 PL Lenses, so I'm thinking this could be a great alternative. I will use it mostly as a portrait lens. Also not sure if this is a Nikon mount version.

It's not really an alternative.... it's just different. The C/Y lenses are pretty good for the price if you can find any in good shape. But they are not tack sharp like modern lenses.
 
I use them....I have set....and love them....I have clients that ask for them when using some video camera...like the Sony fs700...lens complement. That 35mm sensor

I was originally set on using this on my Nikon mount SGBlade + HPX172 combo. Turns out the lens has a Contax mount. Finding a Contax to Nikon adapter was easy enough but according to Wayne Kinney:

[FONT=&quot]"The only Contax to Nikon adapters that exist are the one with the optical lens in the middle to adjust for the difference in flange focal length. This really reduces quality and I wouldn't advise it.[/FONT]"
