My budget exercise is slowly taking form. Let me know if you have any contact names at any of the leading rentals vendors in the Los Angeles area. I am looking for any rental representatives who know the needs of a documentary DV feature. Every time, I call these rental house the sales person has just dealt with "Fear Factor" or the latest Universal feature film. The ideal contact would be a good ally for the indie filmmaker.

For example, at Kodak you call C@ndice Ch@pman for the best film stock deals (replace the [at] signs with A). She mainly deals with indie filmmaker and gives the widest assistance in terms of information and knowledge.

Contact persons at these vendors would help the most.

Wexler Video
Birns & Sawyer
EVS
Samy’s Camera
Coffy Sound
Location Sound Company
Alternative Rentals

Please let me know if there are better forums for these inquiries as well.

Bluevision, I'm your Allie! We specialize almost exclusively with indie filmmakers and small projects that go long term.

Also DVXusers get 15% off all rentals, 50% off any tripod with camera rental, and a free MQ tape with every DVX rental.:) There are many more offers for long term rentals.
