Constructive CRITICS Please! Commercial

Nice effort. Overall idea was good and execution was reasonable. I agree with others to lose the laugh track. It should stand on it's own and the comedy has to come through. Otherwise it seems like it's one of those funniest home videos clips with a studio audience.

Camera on tripod would have helped. Splash of color somewhere in the spot would have been nice. Close up of the lips makings sounds would focus the attention. Might have been possible to cut to a nice car shot once the manger establishes his sound effects. The one shot of the 'hero car' on cue doesn't really show the car off. The lens flares and reverse action aren't helping either. Normally the clients are very critical of the look of their product, even for a dealer. Last couple of shots were nice.
 
IMO, if it's not funny without a laugh track, then it's not funny. I think the creative behind the spot is actually quite good, and would work 10x better if it were not so overexposed at the beginning, and if the laugh track was gone. In terms of handheld, for that more handheld/floatey kind of look I'd suggest looking into something like an EasyRig. Handheld without any kind of rig is usually not all that great, unless the camera is weighted properly and designed for shoulder-use.
