Construction Lights...

As I head into work every night on I-95 towards Philadelphia I drive through an area where there are doing construction. I was wondering what kind of lights they use out there on the highway. They are 4 really bright flourescent looking lights that make it look like daylight they are so bright. They are attached to their own power supply which is built onto a trailer that can be hitched to the back of a truck? Has anyone ever used one of these for Video Production needs? How much are they to rent? I don't need anything like this now but it would be nice to know that I could go rent one when and if I need to.

I have no idea how much it costs to rent them, but they sure as hell are LOUD! I don't know if you could use them and get any kind of decent sound.

I think they are Metal Halide lights. The Alzo lights some people around here have been talking about are the same kind I believe.

You can not use these lights for video. THey are loud and not crystal controlled. you can rent a 5500 watt generator and some 2.5k HMIs and do the same thing though.
