Consolidating Video Streams Pr cc

I have Premier Pro CC and have long AVCHD video clips that are in the BIN that are broken into multiple clips because of the length of the clip (file size limitation) and want to join them together INSIDE Pr. Anyone know how to easily do this without having to export then re-import the files and keep them as AVCHD?

Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

1. Copy the full card from the camera to the hard drive.
2. Do NOT delete, move or rename any of those files.
3. Within PP, only use the Media Browser to import media of this type.

Under those conditions, long clips which get split up into separate files will correctly appear and behave as one long clip inside of PP.

It seems clear enough and I think I did that although I may not have but the clips are a bunch of smaller clips. Is there a way to "heal" them back or do I have to start over? I"m trying to do a three camera multi cam and what a nightmare. I loved my old FCP7 and wished I was back there but alas that isn't an option. FCP7 is for yesteryear. :-(

If you're talking about smaller clips that were created by starting and stopping the camera, well...then PP is behaving correctly. One doesn't normally combine individual shots into one long shot and then edit, one just edits using the individual shots.

If your camera crew started and stopped the camera during the event, fire them and tell them why. Once you roll in a multicam situation, you don't turn off the camera until you're done. (And this is why. Floors and ceilings are better than multiple clips.)

If you're talking about smaller clips that were created by starting and stopping the camera, ...

Sorry I didn't make that clear. These are a single continuous scene (i.e.. 40-80 mins in length from start to stop roll) Most are Wedding or Event and are one continuous roll from the beginning of a Ceremony or Beginning of a speaking engagement and aren't stopped rolling till the event (or that large portion of the even) is completed but are broken up into several files because of some 2gb file size limitation. Moreover, this is multiplied by 3 or 4 cameras of similar format although a mix of Canon and GoPro Hero 4. However, they can be Canon XA20, Canon 6D, or GoPro Hero 4 Silver or all (up to 5 cams altogether).

Again, my apologies for not making this clear in my write up.

In which case, my original post stands. Copy the full cards...

And if I have already copied the files out and/or renamed them, then what? I ask because I'm not sure at this point if I brought the files over from the card, from a file that was the original file, or brought them over from a final cut 7 project files.

Gotcha. The latter may be the case. hehehe Oh well. Such is life.

I don't know about you but this AVCHD is hard stuff for a computer to crunch up. For the moment I've been trying difficultly to do it with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and my nearly new MacBook Pro Retina 15" for one camera and finished clips of less than a few minutes or so I've not had any issues . . BUT . . I recently started working my 3 camera and 4 camera (mixed varieties of formats) with the MBP Retina and Adobe Pr CC and YIKES !!!! Talk about fast HOT !! The back of my MBP got so hot I could hardly touch it. I was using TB external SATA drive from Seagate and after some calls with B&H they tell me I'm actually going to cook my MBP. They suggested:

- MacPro any variety of the new version
- External WD 2 Tb VelosiRaptor DUO 10,000 rpm RAID 0 external drive
- Minimum 12 Gb mem
- Minimum 256 Gb SSD

Your thoughts?
