Consolidating Render files ?

I've noticed while working on a pretty big project, with lots of greenscreen, special effects, heavy CC, etc.. that my render files in FCP folder are starting to get really big. I'm seeing duplicates of the clip I'm rendering after adjusting it over and over.

Is there a overwrite check box for render files or can I delete them and just re render my project without any problems ?

There is nothing wrong with dumping them all and then taking the time to re-render. Or you can use TOOLS Render Manager to help clean it up too.
