Connecting to a telescope

I have seen telescopes that allow you to connect a 35mm/DSLR camera to them. Has anyone connected a DV camera to record HD video from a telescope? Is it possible?

the most similar use to your question is the use of web cams. these are set to record "video" in low light conditions, altho most can only do the moon and bright planets, not deep sky objects. The controlling software records multiple frames which are then "stacked" and manipulated to create a quality image from the sum of many lo-res ones.

I can't think of any astronomical event that would require video. However, if you want to video terrestrial events, you could try the afocal method (placing the camcorder lens over the eyepiece in place of the eyeball), but mounting hardware would be required.
