Connecting a Camera to OBS. Possible?

Not sure if this is where I should post. Hoping you guys can help me out.

I'm going to be shooting an event that the client wants to stream via Facebook Live (certain interviews at scheduled times). Through a little research, it seems like software like OBS should be able to easily handle the streaming part. My problem is, I can't seem to figure out if I can connect the camera to the computer for OBS to use. Works with webcams during my tests, but I'll be shooting Sony FS7. I assumed I would convert the SDI signal (audio mixed in cam) to HDMI via an AJA box. Then run that HDMI into the computer. So far... no luck. Anyone know how to do this?

Depends on what computer and inputs you have. Magewell HDMI to USB 3 card
or Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini recorder SDI/HDMI to thunderbolt port are both
good choices.

At an extra $85, I think I would always add the smart panel to that BMD device to get the source monitor.
