Connect Macbook Pro to SDTV

I've just ordered a new 13" MBP and I wanted to connect it to my old CRT TV to color correct.
CRT TVs seem to be the most accurate for grading, right?

I read over at Macrumors that a good solution is to get a mini displayport to VGA adapter and then hook it up to something like this

It seems to work but would it be a good idea to grade using this set up?

If you have FW800, then you can get an AJA Io HD or a MOTU V4HD. Otherwise, you might be able to adapt the display port to DVI to use the original Matrox MXO. Those are the only solutions that will come close to any kind of accuracy.
