i am a new dvx use and have my first two cam shoot...I used a dvx100b+dvx100a both shot in 24p normal squeeze mode....

i want the best quality possible so that would meaning editing it at 24p timeline and encoding at 24p right ???

when capturing the only way to capture the anamorphic footage is at 29.97 right ? advanced pulldown removal doesn't have an option for anamorphic ?? or am I missing something ?

if capturing in amamorphic works do I open cinema tools use advanced pulldown and then have 24p footage and open a 24p timeline in final cut and be all set ?

basically I want to be able to make the best looking video humanely possible with the cams and want to make sure I am using the best steps to get there possible :)

:dankk2: in advance to someone that can set me straight

Use the 24p with Advanced Pulldown Removal Easy Setup, then click the anamorphic checkbox in your Capture and Sequence settings. I cover this in depth on my DVD btw. :dankk2:

if you didn't shoot 24pA, then you can't use advanced pulldown... if you just shot 24p, then you need to edit on a 29.97 timeline

or you can use cinema tools and do a reverse telecine to remove the 3:2 pulldown and then you can edit in 23.98.

so I am confused you can't use the advanced pulldown capture with 24P normal ?

so if I shot 24p normal I will get the best looking dvd by just editing on a 29.97 timline?

in the future should I shoot in 24pA ? I mainly shoot concert video and like want to make things the best they can be...

( using fcp and compressor is 24PA > advanced pulldown > 23fps timeline > quicktime > compressor>dvdstp4) would that be my best method to use ?

^ yup that is the correct workflow...but you don't need to go to quicktime before compressor. Just export straight to compressor from FCP.

but as KingsReign said above, with regular 24p you can use cinema tools to remove the 3:2 pulldown and edit on a 23.98 timeline. This method is not recommended, but will work. The difference is in the DV compression and the mixing of fields. With 24pA you will have the best quality frames in your end product.
