Is it true that computer monitors cannot play 24p footage correctly, except when used with a program like FCP, which automatically adds pulldown for playback when editing on a 23.98 timeline?
I have a file that I reverse telecined (it is now 23.98 frames per second) - it plays perfectly in FCP, without any jaggies, but when I play it in quicktime (outside of FCP), it has really ugly jaggies and ugly image overall. Is this because computer monitors cannot play back footage correctly without a program that adds pulldown like FCP?
Thanks!
