This is a desk I built for Streamline Productions that took about 5 days. It's all 3/4" plywood with oak trim and finished with 2 coats of stain with polyurethane in it.

that's friggin amazing, I'm still using the same desk that' I've had for about 3 years ( which isn't that long) but considering I've moved like 5-6 times 1000's of miles with this desk, I can't believe it's even still holding my monitors up.... I spend so much of my hard earned $$ on equipment that my office furniture is the last to catch up....

thanks guys. the only plan was a sketch the guy made of the basic outline with the dimensions he wanted. it's mounted to the wall in the back with 2x4's.

total cost of materials was about $150

My biggest problem with building anything permanent is that my configuration changes all the time. I use one of those big folding tables that hotels and convention centers use. Then I have a bunch of wooden shevles and stands that I can rearrange as needed on top.

I cannot even work with my back to a door; must be my time spent in the Mafia.

Feng Shui man; or in other words: Ving Rhames.

You're not the only paranoid one, my friend. My office is the upstairs of my house. You have to open a door, go up a flight of stairs, turn a corner and walk the entire length of the upstairs to get to my computer. By that time, I'll have grabbed one of the swords sitting within arms reach and then it's on.

very nice. my desk happens to be an old piece of countertop supported by legs bought from IKEA. this thing is a monster, but i could always use more space.
