Computer crashes during export

Has anyone had issues with their computer crashing while exporting large files (over an hour)? I'm trying to export a project in both final cut and premiere and no matter what NLE I'm using my computer will crash with no explanation, I've also tried exporting directly from premiere and with the adobe media encoder. I'm having trouble googling a solution, so I was hoping someone here would have some advice.

Maybe a little more detail might help.

Does it instantly crash, or get to a point where it crashes? Have you tried exporting to a different drive location, or using different codec settings?
