Computer can't playback 720p footage, no compression.

My computer can't playback 720p footage file with no compression.

Files over 3 gig are playing 1 picture every 2 or 3 seconds. Usually, the audio play at the right frame/rate but often lag too.

Is this normal? Is my footage will be unreadable on others computers too?

Intel Pentium D, CPU 2,80 ghz
2.81 GHZ, 2 gig ram
Graphic Card Nvidia Gforce 6600

Do you think if I'm buying a better graphic card, I will solve my problem or maybe it just that my CPU is not fast enough?

I'm really confuse about HD footage and computer performance.

Thank to explain me or direct me to another thread!

Thanks!

you can't playback uncompressed 720p from a single drive. you would a need a high performance RAID for that.
