Compressor won't load / start / work

Final Cut Studio (FCP5.1.4) with everything installed and updated.

Compressor worked just fine last week, then I installed the pro-apps update late last week--> yesterday went to use compressor and it was 'greyed' out in FCP as an export option. It also wouldn't start from the apps menu.

I trashed the plist; still no love.

I trashed the program / qmaster, and all asoc files (as per apple help site) and re-installed the whole thing---> repairing permissions along the way.

Still wouldn't work, so I went to bed---> today I re-traced all my steps tried everything all over, checked to se what I have overlooked and I just can't see what I have done wrong / could do differently.

Any suggestions? anyone else with this problem?
 
Maybe someone here will know, but something like that I'd post it to the Apple forums or try using their tech support lines. Perhaps there's a conflict they missed (wouldn't be a first). Good luck.

No man mine isnt workign either and hasnt been for a while I was hoping id come across an answer by the time my short was finished and ready for exporting but... alas no luck so in about 5min im gonna remove FCP studio and try a reinstall see if it works for me... hopfully
