compressor making wierd ac3 file?

I'm using compressor to encode my video and audio to m2v and ac3 files and then authoring them in adobe encore on a pc. It seems like something strange is going on with the ac3 files. When I get done making my dvd and play it back the sound only plays back on my surround sound and not my tv. I've encoded ac3 files before on my pc with mpeg encoder and never had this problem on playback. It even took away all the bass in the audio when done in compressor and doesn't sound very good. Any suggestions? Also I never had this problem on other project I did in the past, it just happened on this one.
Thanks

Well the AC3 file supports surround sound. So you might need to go into those settings and check and see what setting is being used exactly. From the sounds of it you just need the 2 channel stereo option (which "should" be the default...). Other option is make an AIFF and use that istead.

cheers.

Maybe something changed on me I'll have to check it all out. Another thing that was strange with the ac3 file was that I tried to import it into Sizzle just to burn a quick dvd for preview and it gave me a warning that the ac3 file was not done at 48k and it may not work in some dvd players, but I did check that in compressor and it was set on 48k.

Also when I was playing the video and audio for editing in FCP it sounded great, even the bass was hitting good, but after encoding it turned to crap, must be some setting in the ac3 setup. Does anyone know if encore will accept aiff files? I suppose I should look that up myself.
