Compressor 3 won't open! Quicktime 7.2 may be th problem?

Hey all,

My compressor 3 crashes whenever I open it. It won't even load fully, just crashes after the splash screen. I heard it may be b/c of the quicktime 7.2 update but not sure. It seems it's starting to happen to a lot of people. Apple have admitted to some people I was reading on forums that there was a problem but have provided no fix. Anyone else having the same problem here?? If so, has anyone found a way to correct the problem with out do drastic things like re-in stall your OS...

I have a lot to render and this is killing me
 
I had this problem with Color when I exported back to FCP. I read on a forum it was the update from 1.0 to 1.1 that caused the crash.

He suggested to pop in the install disc, and explore the install contents and directory's until you find the app. Then copy just the application to your desktop. So now I work in Color 1.1 then save the project when I'm ready to export. Then open the 1.0 version on my desktop and export. It works perfect now.

Any way, I'd explore that install disc and try to get an un-updated version of Compressor 3, maybe that'll help.

I guess the question is did it ever work? If it did, what did you do before it stopped working?

Also, this is actually happening on my Intel Based MAC, but not on my desktop G5 which has updated quicktime as well...

I just hope I don't have to do a complete re-install.
 
I'm on PowerPC (non-intel) and I haven't had a problem,.. if that helps. (not to rub it in or anything)
