I'm pretty new to fcp and I've been exporting my final projects through: export>quicktime movie. and the file exports almost instantly and it doesn't look too good at all. Should I be using compressor or quicktime conversion? Thanks guys

all depends on what you are exporting it for? what purpose, what output (computer viewing, DVD, web, for archive reasons)?

Make sure that export> quicktime movie has "Current Settings" checked. This will export the same format as your time line. Also make sure "make movie self-contained is checked" to make a full, stand alone quicktime movie. It is best to export a full quality movie from final cut and then compress that file with compressor or quicktime pro to your final product.

also, if you use QuickTime Conversion and export an uncompressed .mov by selecting Compressor 'None', you will have a much higher quality/cleaner and crisper file.
