Compressing Audio Master

I have an audio timeline with narration, sound fx, and music... I would like to put a little compression across the whole thing. I see that I can't put a compressor across the master track, so I suppose I would have to somehow precompose the audio???

What's the best way to do this?

Use the Audio Mixer and apply the MultibandCompressor, thats the best way to do it in PPro. No need for "pre composing" the audio. :)

When I try to apply the compressor it doesn't let me... how do I apply it to the master channel when there is nothing in the master channel (except the feeds from the individual channels)??

I think you are trying to drag the MultibandCompressor from the Effects Window/Panel to the Master Track on the Timeline, am i right?

No effect can be applyed to the Master Track on the Timeline, you must use the Audio Mixer in PPro: Go to Window > Audio Mixer.

Press F1 and read about Applying audio effects in the Audio Mixer for more detailed info on how to apply effects. Once you learn it, you will love the Audio Mixer since it is very powerful. :)
