okay I am trying a sreen test ,for simplifing reasons we'll just say I want to make myself little, say on the kitchen couter running around. This is a stationary shot so I have masked and feathered all around me and I have the background I want to show, but now I have to make myself smaller! with the pan/crop used for masking already how do size myself down?

Is there some fundamental difference in doing the above using track motion vs. pan/crop. I could see how they both could be used to change the size of an image on a track, but I don't see how they differ (although pan/crop is done on a video event, and track motion affects entire track)?? Can anyone clarify the difference?

u pretty much jsu did clarify it....track motion resizes it to the whole track so you dont have to keep doing it to all the clips on a track..depending on wat your project is...and pan/crop...if you dont feel like inserting a new video track...you use pan crop to just work on individual clips....hopefullly its clear now. :D

Pan/crop is for panning around a picture. Track motion is for taking the picture and moving it around the screen.

There's an overlap of functionality, and both can be used for much more, but generally, that's what they're meant for.

I'm missing something. Doesn't panning around a picture and moving a picture around the screen have the same effect??

One thing is trackmotion effects the whole track and pan crop effects just a single clip. Also track motion can do 3D, Shadow, Glow. Pan Crop cannot.
