$12-$30 per song, one-time fee. Public viewing consists of 2-300 people. Possible use on demo DVDs. Possibly synchronized with video for use in future, web video, broadcast, or cable productions. The likeliest scenario is that the musical piece will accompany someone's wedding film for them to enjoy only.
You or your composer friends should have some website links to your work or your services as a musician. Please do NOT email me any songs, at first.

(yes, I have a REAL production company, but I'd rather not post it here on the forums this time. If you have pieces to license, of course, we will do business like normal people in private.))
What would I buy?
Always needing:
instrumental or with vocals:
up tempo, modern-edge sounding music
up tempo, happy music
orchestral
dramatic-optimistic, but not scary..music that builds
classical
romantic film score
Piano or acoustic guitar solos
Extreme rock or rap will not work. These are for wedding productions, keep in mind. Most clients have pretty mainstream music tastes, leaning toward modern/alternative/classic rock. My own editing style is more doc style, with an occasional music video look. Clients typically request music from Coldplay, U2, Black Eye-peas, Counting Crows, Van Morrison, Green Day, Norah Jones ( ug) etc. I prefer to music I can use professionally.
I have found some neat stuff on the sites below just for ideas. I am a member of a large music library already and own a lot of music already. I am always looking for fresh independent music. Here are some links I like:
http://www.myspace.com/ousa20
http://www.instantroyaltyfreemusic.com/
http://www.magnatune.com ( I like this for the classical pieces, the new age and rock tends to be too way out there for my clients)
(Bluespider, EMAIL ME. As I said previously, I want to license your tracks, too. let's make it happen.)
