Completing a final edit in Premiere when it was originally cut in FCP

I want to start using outside freelance editors to work on some of my projects. Often times I need to personally do a final polish on their cut but I'm finding that difficult since so many people cut on FCP and I'm on PC with both Premiere and Vegas.

Whats the easiest way to make the transition between the two systems while maintaining as much flexibility in editing the footage?

I want to avoid having to go back to the source footage as much as possible and simply continue where they left off. Is this even possible? Would Premiere or Vegas be more prone to handling this problem?

Why not "polish " the edit with the editor you employ to do the job.

I would be pissed if someone worked over my edit. Who gets the credit for the edit (bad or good) ????

Anyway , I do not think you will find it that easy to "work cross the applications" and achieve what you want
