hi,

Here are 2 videos that features female bodybuilders.

Video 1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUTke4769Z0 (trailer of several women posing)

Video 2 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfvkGBF_IkY (gym video)

How would you compare the 2 videos in terms of cinematography ?

What are the strenght and weakness of each video ?

FOR ME, video 1 has more smooth pan and tilt (does it add something ? Not really). There are more experiments with the camera angles (sometimes for the best, sometimes not).
Video 2 has more zoom in-out, less close-ups (i think its a good thing). The audio of the environment makes it a more real experience (but of cours video 1 is only a trailer).

THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK ABOUT THESE VIDEOS,

Yeah...not too polished.

Bodybuilders posing is the kind of event that benefits from locked down motionless shots because the whole point of this kind of event is to see exactly what the bodybuilders are doing and what they look like. Too much camera movement here makes it look either amateurish or like you're trying to make it into a beer commercial.

And I'm someone who generally LOVES to keep the camera moving.

For this type of event I personally would choose to cut between many different cameras that are all still.
Wide, mid, close, and some side and low angles. But cut in a way that shows us the clearest view of what the subject is doing at each moment.
