Company Title

For this kind of thing I am using Motion, but trying to get my handle down on shake as we speak.....

I used and continue to use "Motion 1.0" for Mac pc's . I would say go with Motion 2 if you can score it. Im not a big 3d FX guy so a programs like 3DSMax could be really kick ass if you know how to build, render and shade all that stuff, but I'm with Invision Productions on this one, After Effects or Motion is the way to go. Good luck.

Motion / Shake / After Effects are good suggestions ... And obviously Combustion

As a pro maya/3dsmax artist for 7 years, I'd advise against thinking that going 3d will improve your logos ;) Your best bet is to get good at 2d design and compositing, which will obviously involve serious photoshop and compositing work. Once you've got those abilities pinned down, then think about using maya/max for creating elements for your composits. Still composit the same way, but add rendered elements to your arsenal.
