Company Name vs Personal Name

I recently moved, and I've decided to change the name of my production company in the process. A company name can sound more professional, even if it's just a sole proprietorship, but using my own name would be much more personal (I guess good if I wanted to shoot weddings or something). I do mostly real estate photography at the moment, and my video work is pretty much whatever comes along (although I'm trying to get away from event work).

What are your thoughts on using a company name (e.g. Slate 1 Productions) vs. just using my name?

I have a sole proprietorship, but I partner with different people for different contracts. I like the idea of my company name giving the illusion that I have those assets at my disposal. I never mislead a client, but my company does give the impression that we have a a decent staff on hand. I don't think that would happen if I just used my name.

Ford, Chrysler, Harley-Davidson, Toyota, Boeing etc. etc. immediately come to mind

I agree with this... if you go with Harley-Davidson you're already a house-hold name... Ford's okay too.

(kidding aside I vote company name)
