COMMOTION tutorial?

So I have this program commotion which I used to use regularly but I havent used it in years. I ve tried to use it recently and have not ben sucesfull. The program has been discountinued and I cant find any tutorials online. Does anyone have any experience with this program?

I just went on it. Its very vauge. Does anyone know how to create a garbage matte. So when compositing i could get rid of the unwanted excess of the shot?
 
I used to use Commotion quite a bit and, although I haven't opened it in years, I do recall that rotoscoping is one of the primary functions of the application that is covered in great detail in the user guide. Spending some with that and the help menu should assist you in becoming familiar with the features of the program.
 
Just a thought, but the majority of the functions of Commotion are included in Photoshop CS4 or 3 extended. The spline stuff is a bit problematic but at least you can run it on a fast machine. Roto, masking etc......
By the way I loved Commotion but the version I have has an ADB port key and will only run on my ancient G3 500 minitower, ugh.
