What are some commercials that inspired you, engaged you in its message (regardless of the product it's trying to sell) or touched your heart in one way or another?
There's a commercial from years back, which is a static shot of a couch, starting with an infant sitting on it, then shows the passage of time as the infant becomes a child watching tv, then a teenager making out with his girlfriend, then a young man sitting with his wife, then the two of them with their child, then an older man, then a really aged man wearing slippers, smoking a pipe, then finally an empty couch, just the slippers and pipe sitting there alone.
I remember watching that ad with my father, who is now in his mid-80s, and he nodded sagely and sadly and said, yes, that's just about right.
other than that I like the new Home Depot ad with the asian family where the daughter comes in while the father is watching TV and starts telling him how the whole house is falling apart. the punchline is great and it's atypical and believeable unlike most commercials these days.
